As the first grizzly bear tracks of spring show up in the mountains of Montana, Idaho, Washington and Wyoming, we are working on everything from a securing garbage to defending habitat in National Forests.

Grizzly bears have been mostly absent from the North Cascades National Park and throughout north central Washington since the early 1900s. This year, the NPS and the U.S. FWS will start work to determine exactly what grizzly bears need to recover to healthy population levels.
