This Saturday, June 11, is National Get Outdoors Day! So we have a mission for you, and all wildlife enthusiasts: turn off the TV, slather on the sunscreen, and get outside to enjoy all this amazing country has to offer.
Our public lands – refuges, forests, parks and more – provide us with so much. They serve as strongholds for wildlife, help protect sources of clean drinking water, and provide all kinds of opportunities for having fun in the great outdoors.
In order to protect wildlife and balance the needs of recreational activities in our national forests, new rules for over-snow vehicles need to be implemented.
Forest planning and restoration work is a big part of what we do here in California and throughout the Pacific West, and the policies that we design and promote shape forest management practices not just here, but all across the country.
